Advertising
A 1960s Band-Aid commercial takes a humorous approach by bringing an egg to life. Humpty Dumpty experiences a series of misfortunes, from being dipped in boiling water to taking a tumble and cracking, before being patched up with mini Band-Aids.

CONCEPT
I drew inspiration from the original Band-Aid commercial and the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty, incorporating the whimsical character into the advertisement. Humpty Dumpty's comical mishaps highlight the strength and effectiveness of Band-Aid's adhesive bandages in a memorable and engaging way.

STORYBOARD

CHARACTER RIGGING
The most challenging task was teaching myself to rig a character. There were many complications and errors, but I persevered! I rigged the egg using Duik Bassel, a tool to build a skeleton of controls (rigging) to make characters move, like the strings on a puppet.

BUILDING THE CHARACTER
First, I had to build the character in Illustrator, considering the flexion and extension of the hands, arms, and legs. With this clean illustration style I selected for the project, I constructed the character in a way that maintains the linework when the character bends.

FACE RIGGING
I created facial expressions that accurately captured emotions like happiness, annoyance, anger, and distress to convey the scenes.
