Experiments in Type Zine

A zine exploration of humor and feelings with the letter "a," sourcing everyday items to create an expressive typographic library.

I made 50 hand-rendered quick studies and experiments of the letterform. The challenge was to be expressive and show range. I used materials like boiled spaghetti, dominos, my hair, cheerios, scallions, gardening tools, torn book pages, salt, melted wax, fried egg, apple carvings, and many more.

After photographing and digitizing the 50 studies, I created a zine presenting the experiments. These are some of the covers I made for the zine.
