A display typeface inspired by the lands of castles, fairies, and magical forests of the medieval period. Completed with a type specimen booklet.

CONCEPT
The Enchanted typeface is inspired by the stories of medieval fables, folklore, and fairytales of 15-17th century Europe.

INITIAL SKETCHES
The serifs take the shape of sparkles, resembling the tips of a court jester’s attire. Each letterform was carefully hand-drawn with unique curves and imperfect strokes to retain an organic quality and resemblance to old-style Roman typefaces.

ENCHANTED TYPEFACE BOOKLET
The type specimen booklet introduces the typeface like a fairy tale book. The color scheme uses an icy soft blue, like Cinderella's castle, and the cover design is reminiscent of the Gothic architecture of the medieval period.

CREATING THE PAGES
The challenge was experimenting with editorial layout beyond the functional and process pages. These explorations resulted in bold and expressive pages, with some that play on classic fairytales motifs. See if you recognize them!
