"Bug Are Our Friends" is an interactive event designed to educate and entertain children about the wonder of bugs with nature exploration, bug scavenger hunts, and bug-related experiential activities. In collaboration with Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Scholastic Books.

CONCEPT
Brooklyn Botanic Garden connects people to the world of plants, fostering delight and curiosity while inspiring an appreciation of the environment. Scholastic promotes literacy and education for millions of kids, parents, and educators. Combining their strengths, a mock collaboration event between Scholastic and BBG would create an immersive learning experience.


LOGO ACTIVATION
The main emblem logo alludes to the design of explorer scout patches, which connects to the activities of this event.

TYPEFACE & COLOR
BD Supper is a friendly sans-serif typeface with a whimsical and childlike feel, which pairs nicely with a geometic typeface like Neuzeit Grotesk. The icons and patterns are inspired by insect species found at the BBG, determining each kingdom's distinguishable identity.

OOH POSTERS
Focusing on call-to-action questions about insect behaviors in their respective kingdom invites curiosity to the viewers.


WELCOME BROCHURE
The activities offered at Bugs Are Our Friends encourage participation and a friendly community. The inner fold includes an introduction, a list of activities, and an event schedule. The back fold provides the map for the scavenger hunt.



BAOF FIELD NOTEBOOK
This little notebook in the explorer scout kit is needed to complete the bug scavenger hut. Participants are rewarded with bug medallion stickers for completing challenges.
